Fall Out Boy’s ‘Save Rock n’ Roll Tour’ did just that. If you blinked you would have missed it but you would have left knowing that just experienced something amazing and punk rock.

This show sold out in less than an hour, but that did keep away fans from waiting outside to get a glimpse of the out of hiatus group. Those who were lucky enough to buy a ticket would agree that the money was well spent.

The opening band New Politics is no new comer to the scene, but they are far underrated. They were the only band to open up for FOB which was nice change because there wasn’t any extra waiting time to see what everyone had come to see. It would have been nice if NP could have played a longer set than the standard 30 minutes.

New Polictics

Their stage presence was infectious and they do not just play their music they perform. Most of their set list of songs off of their new album ‘A Bad Girl In Harlem’ but they cut it nicely with hits from their last album.

The songs were fast and David Boyd blew the crowd away with his brake dancing that is good enough to be on the next TV dance competition.

From experience seeing this trio a few times they are worth a listen and seeing them live. I couldn’t think of a better band to open up and set the tone of the night.

When FOB finally took the stage it was pure magic. They did the classic play the intro behind a sheet to build up the suspension. When the sheet dropped the crowd erupted and remind loud throughout the entire set.

Fall Out Boy

At some points during the show you could barely hear the band playing through the speakers. The fans were screaming at the top of their lungs every last lyric.

The set was a perfect mix of their albums and crowd pleasers. Some songs were changed up a bit to bit in the monster of a set list that consisted of 22 songs.

The band came back for an encore that ended with bassist Pete Wentz joining the crowd at the end of ‘Saturday.’

Fall Out Boy

There are not many shows that I attend where I feel like everyone in attendance is there for one common interest and love. This one was one of those shows. It was apparent that everyone was there to enjoy great music before they had even walked into the venue.

One of the most magical moments was after the show when fans lined up to meet the band started singing FOB’s latest chart topper ‘My Songs Know What You Did in The Dark.’

Overall the night was fantastic and if you weren’t lucky enough to catch them on this tour they will be in Tampa this fall at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater.
